Argitein® is specifically formulated to provide the nutrients for the dietary management of pressure ulcers and wounds1,2,5,6,7 that require enhanced levels of protein and L-arginine.

The National Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel (NPUAP) recommends 1.2 to 1.5 g of protein per kg of body weight for wound healing. Larger draining wounds may require higher levels, up to 2.0 g of protein per kg of body weight, to offset protein losses from wound exudates. Argitein yields a high-protein-nitrogen intervention to meet the increased nitrogen needs associated with chronic, non-healing wounds.
